    September 2007

Dear Friends

Well here we are into September already!! The Church has all of a sudden become really busy again after the summer and lots of things are happening. All the organisations are starting back up again and there is a general buzz about the place. Just the way I like it!!!

We recently took part in North Lanarkshire Council’s Doors Open Day. A number of people visited the Church and the comments were all very positive and encouraging. Now as I write this we are looking forward to the African Children’s Choir coming to give a concert.  Events which in many respects reflect the focus that the Church must have. Thinking about and being part of the local community and remembering and working for the Church worldwide. Two very important parts of the life of the Church.

And then of course we have our Table Top Sale on 15th September which should also be good.

So lots of things to think about and to be a part of!!!

I was talking to someone recently who said they felt that Churches in general had no life in them anymore and were effectively past their sell by date. Of course I strongly disagreed with him and dared to ask if he took an active part in his own local Church. He then admitted that it had been a long number of years since he had even been inside a Church and that he didn’t actually know what happened at his local one!! He did, I am glad to say, recognise the irony of this. I wonder if he will think of going along some day? It just shows though how people can have the wrong perception of the Church. Things are happening in our Church and in Churches up and down the land. The potential is there for even greater things.

I hope that you will feel able to get involved in some or all of the activities which are taking place here at St Andrew’s

Take care and God bless you

With love and prayers

Fiona N
