St Andrew's Parish Church, Coatbridge – The Sunday School

We have a healthy thriving Sunday School with several departments.

We start in the Crèche where the very young children – from 3 weeks old to 3 years enjoy playing with toys and colouring pictures.  This helps them to mix with other children and teaches them to share toys.  It also prepares them for the Sunday School.

There are different departments within the Sunday School to suit each age group from 3 years to 16 years.  This incorporates the Bible Class.

The aims of the Sunday School are to make the teachings of Christianity understood at the children’s level and to help them understand Christ’s work and prepare them to be members of the Church.  The material being used this year is ‘Trowel’, which is originally from Australia and which the teachers believe the children enjoy.

We also have fund raising events which help to take the children on trips and give them gifts at a Christmas Party.  These are always very well supported by the congregation who enjoy the friendship and fellowship on these occasions.

The Sunday School roll at the present time stands at 85 with an average attendance of 70.  We have 12 teachers and the Superintendent.

Any new children will be made very welcome, or anyone interested in helping in the Sunday School please contact George McCall on 01236 764065 or at sundayschool@saintandrewscoatbridge.org or the Minister.
